SENIOR TAX WORK

OFF PROGRAM

THIS PROGRAM OFFERS A DISCOUNT ON PROPERTY TAXES IN RETURN FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE DONE IN A VARIETY OF TOWN OFFICES/PROGRAMS. WE ARE CURRENTLY COMING TO A CLOSE FOR THE FY 13  AND WILL BE TAKING A LOOK AT THE UPCOMING YEAR AND PARTICIPANTS. AS A REMINDER TO THOSE ON THE PROGRAM, HOURS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE COUNCIL ON AGING OFFICE BEFORE THE THIRD WEEK IN JUNE EACH YEAR A NEW APPLICATION FOR THE PROGRAM MUST BE SUBMITTED. THERE ARE SOME NEW APPLICANTS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS THE PROGRAM AS OF YET AND APPPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED ON A "FIRST COME FIRST SERVICE BASIS." TO GET AN APPLICATION, PLEASE COME TO THE COUNCIL ON AGING OFFICE AT 21 CROSSWAY ST. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED COOPERATION WITH THIS MATTER.

Transportation

Reminders

This is probably the businest program for the Council on Aging. As a friendly reminder:

1. For out of town medical appintments, once you know of the date (2 weeks to a month in advance) please let our office know so we can accommodate accordingly. 243-5545

2. There is a $3.00 charge for round trip transportation out of town to help defray the cost of gasoline for the car.

3. For in town transportation, although there have been "standing orders " in the past, due to staff shortage, please call the day before to confirm your ride. We try our best to give you the same time each week, but sometines, the time frame requres a little more flexibility. Please double check that you are on the list.. Thank you.
